Vamos is in Hull this week, taking a mask residency to Ganton School.

The team is working with a group of students from Ganton, who are learning to make masks for themselves, as well as taking on mask performance skills that they will be able to use in a summer production for Hull Year of Culture.

The summer production will be called Wired Differently and focuses on giving the young people a voice in a world that often chooses not to listen to them. The project is designed to give students the opportunity to decide what they want to say to the world about what their lives are like, what they are like as people and what they have to offer.

Honor Hoskins is leading taster sessions throughout the week, and staff will also take part in Listening with your Eyes training, learning about non-verbal communication.

Head teacher Sue Jones has already been incredibly supportive of the project, and teacher Hayley Venus, who leads drama,  likewise is helping us to get the best out of the enthusiastic and creative  students.
