Mask Making Residency: 23-24th March 2019
Vamos Theatre invites you to take part in a Mask Making Residency for Veterans living with Post Traumatic Stress (PTS/PTSD) and health professionals caring for Veterans.
About the Residency
Over two days, you will learn how to make a full face mask from scratch. No previous art or theatre experience is necessary - just an interest in the process, an enjoyment of creating things, and a willingness to get your hands dirty with paint and clay.
You will be guided through the stages of creating a full mask - from deciding the character to molding clay, 'pulling' the mask in a vacuum-former, and painting it. After the residency, you can keep the mask you make. Our workshops are always challenging, fun, informal and creative, and we work with a small group of participants to get the best out of everyone involved.
The residency is delivered by two highly-experienced Vamos Theatre practitioners with the help of a Veteran trained by the company.
"Fun, relaxed and enjoyable. With the support I was able to produce a mask, which I did not believe I could have done on the first morning. Also shows mindfulness can come in many different forms!” Veteran participant, Mask Making Workshop
