Congratulations to the fourteen participants who took part in this year's Vamos Emerging Artists programme.

Selected from workshops held across the country, the group came together last week for an intensive four days of full mask and devising training, culminating in two public performances at the Swan Theatre, Worcester.

All of the participants brought talent, enthusiasm, hard-work and commitment to the programme, producing a piece of devised theatre that did them (and us) proud.

Who Lives Next Door? brought together a series of stories of created around the theme of neighbours and communities. Ranging from charity shop volunteers, to a mother, run ragged by her son and daughter after a hard day at work, to a new mother whose baby won't stop crying, the scenes looked at how we relate to and support our neighbours. Pete Philips, writing as The View From The Stalls, described the programme as, "an amazing achievement to have brought together, for the first time, 14 actors from around the country, concoct and rehearse a play over three days and then dare to present it live to an audience, twice in the same day. It works a treat and they should all be proud of what they have done."

Honor Hoskins, Vamos Theatre's Creative Producer commented, "I'm so proud of this year's participants who have created clever and focussed mask theatre in a very short time indeed. Huge congratulations to all of them for what they've achieved. The Vamos Emerging Artist programme has had an amazing first year and it shows that mask theatre has a very promising future."
