We will be dedicating a performance of our upcoming touring production, Boy on the Roof, to Liz Norman, a Vamos Amigo for the last fifteen years, who passed away recently.
One of our most committed Amigos, Liz was unstoppable in sharing our work – she made friends and contacts on train journeys, at bus stops, in doctor’s waiting rooms and made sure she carried flyers in her bag to pass on. She encouraged people to come to shows and try workshops, using enthusiasm that spread like wildfire. Even before the Vamos Amigos were set up, Liz was connected to Vamos Theatre as Creative Producer Honor Hoskin’s mum, and so saw us grow from our early beginnings.
Rachael Savage, Vamos Theatre’s Artistic Director, comments, “ We will miss Liz enormously - her enthusiasm for the arts and for life was incredible. We will miss her energy, love and support and we are delighted to be able to dedicate our performance at Bury St Edmunds to her. We hope many of Liz’s friends and colleagues will attend so we can say thank you to Liz for all she did to support us.”
