Throughout September and October, Alzheimer’s Society is holding a series of Memory Walks across the country to celebrate loved ones affected by dementia and raise money to defeat the disease. The walks are spread across England, Wales and Northern Ireland and each walk will take on a different route through either a city, woodland or a park.
This year over 110,000 people walk united against dementia, with the aim of raising over £9 million.
Vamos will be taking part in the Cheltenham Memory Walk on Sunday the 8th of October. Artistic Director Rachael, Administrator Kathryn and General Manager Charlotte will be putting on their walking shoes to complete the 6.5K distance, and raise as much money as possible along the way, linking in with our own aim to celebrate people living with dementia and their carers through Finding Joy and Sharing Joy.
If you’d like to help in the fight to defeat dementia, you can sponsor our team via Kathryn’s Just Giving site. Here’s the link to sponsor the team. You can also take part in your own Memory Walk – click here to find your nearest walk (Alzhemier’s Society website).
