Vamos Theatre’s new group for young mask performers began last week with a special taster session for young people aged 9-13 years.
Leader Kathryn Green introduced the group to mask theatre basics, along with lots of games, some character hot seating and plenty of chance to get up and perform. Group members came from a wide variety of Worcester schools, including Bishop Perowne, Stanley Road Primary, Pitmaston Primary, Christopher Whitehead, Suckley Primary and Northwick Manor.
After the lively session, Kathryn commented, "I am so excited to be starting this new generation of Vamos Young People's Theatre, and can’t wait to get working with what already proves to be an enthusiastic and talented group of 9-13 year olds."
Full sessions start this week, running on Wednesdays in term time from 5:30 to 6:30pm. There are still a few places left, and new members are welcome to come along, or get in touch to find out more.
Our new group has been made possible by the generous support of the Bransford Trust, Worcester Arts Council, and by Councillor Derek Prodger through the Worcestershire County Council Divisional Fund.
Brilliant news! So glad to hear this is up and running again. I expect it will be fun with a younger age group! Best of luck to everyone, enjoy!
