London International Mime Festival is always a fantastic event to be part of and we were delighted that our mask workshop at London’s Southbank Centre last week was a sell-out.

Revealing the Mask focuses on physical theatre skills and devising, understanding non-verbal communication, and learning the techniques that make full mask performance effective. The day long workshop attracted a focussed and talented group who, by the end of the session, were devising scenes in full mask. Rachael Savage, who led the workshop, commented, “I love working at the London International Mime Festival, and our ongoing relationship is something I cherish. LIMF always attracts an eclectic mix of participants from all corners of the world. One came to take part in the workshop from Stockholm, another is an academic from Turkey writing a book on full mask, and another a producer from China with whom we hope to be touring in the autumn. We also had a teacher from East 15 Drama School who came to polish up her mask skills, and an aromatherapist interested in linking her work with dementia, who came for inspiration. Sharing mask skills with all of such a positive group was a joy.”

Participant feedback has been really positive. Wendy Wareham was one of several who posted on our Comments Book, saying “everyone achieved a sense of belonging in the group and a chance for individual development. I cannot recommend Vamos enough for the wonderful work they do.”

Thank you to everyone who took part in the workshop, and to London International Mime Festival and Southbank Centre for inviting us to be part of the 2017 Festival.
