As part of our recent Arts Council England Grants for the Arts success, we are hosting a free Fundraising Training Day in Worcester on Thursday 30th April from 10am to 1pm.

The event is open to all local artists and arts organisations who are interested in learning more about their fundraising potential. It will be led by Peter McKenzie-Shaw, Director of Shaw Funding and Business Consultancy, and is part of a wider strategy to form an artist-led group of Worcester arts organisations who have a common interest in growing fundraising expertise.

Peter has worked within funding for many years applying for multi-million pound applications for Herefordshire County Council, Worcester City Council, Worcestershire County Council, educational institutes and hundreds of third sector organisations up and down the country. Peter has also been a BIG Lottery Advisor for the past 4 years and is an assessor for grant giving bodies. This has enabled him to develop his skills and knowledge on both sides of the funding fence, from assessing grant applications and managing successful projects to supporting organisations in understanding their potential of fundraising, applying for funding, and securing funding for projects.

There will be a chance to learn valuable fundraising skills including how to make applications more appealing, identifying funding sources, and where to find supporting information. There will also be chance to ask questions of Peter in a Q and A.

The event will be held at our base at Worcester Arts Workshop in Sansome Street, Worcester. For more information please contact us 01905 312921 or enquire via the Contact Us form. We hope to see you there!
