We are delighted to announce that Arts Council England has awarded Vamos Theatre major Grants for the Arts funding, which will help with many strands of our work over the next year.

The grant will support our ambitions to develop the diversity of our audiences, particularly the Deaf community, as well as allowing us to re-tour The Best Thing in response to high venue demand.

Through the process of researching and developing a new show - working title Civvy Street – we’ll be exploring issues of mental health, and in particular post-traumatic stress disorder, and looking at how our full mask theatre can bridge an understanding of human fear and the fragility of the mind. We’ll also have the opportunity to work with some excellent and exciting partners over the coming year.

The re-tour of The Best Thing  gives us a chance to significantly develop our audience diversity. We're now booking the tour, and are keen to work with venues and partners who have experience in creating audience diversity - such as the inclusion of relaxed performances - or who would like to learn alongside us. Venues who want to find out more should contact General Manager Charlotte Gregory via our contact form or on 01905 312921.

We’d like to thank Arts Council England for their belief in us, and their continuing support.
