All Vamos Theatre shows are created from extensive research into the production's subject matter, and this includes talking to people who have been personally involved or affected by it. As part of our ongoing research into Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, the theme of our 2018 touring production, we're in Colchester this week talking to organisations and individuals who work with, or are affected by, PTSD.
Artistic Director Rachael and Associate Artist/Composer Janie will be visiting organisations including Beacon House, a homeless charity in Colchester, and Veteran's First Colchester Community Mental Health Team, which provides mental health care to serving personnel in transition and veterans across North Essex.
Interviews with ex-service personnel and professionals who work with veterans and serving soldiers will feed into script development over the next 4 months, and in March 2017 we'll be taking this into the rehearsal room to devise and develop ideas towards a full scale production.
