This May, we're delighted to be launching a new drama group for young people with mild to moderate learning disabilities, thanks to support from several charities.
Vamos Central Youth will be a weekly group for 16–25-year-olds and will provide a flexible learning environment in which young people can learn theatre skills (including the full mask for which we're internationally renowned), have fun, be playful, and create and share inspiring theatre. Vamos Central Youth will be a place to discover and develop performance skills in a safe and supportive environment, where everyone is valued and treated with respect. It will run alongside our existing group for adults with learning disabilities, Vamos Central.
We'd like to thank The Elmley Foundation, The Eveson Trust, The Hedley Foundation and Baron Davenport's Charity for their generous support, which has enabled us to launch the new group.
Honor Hoskins, Vamos Theatre’s Creative Producer, comments, “We are delighted to be able to offer this provision for young people in Worcestershire thanks to the generous support of our funders. Our existing group for adults is already over-subscribed and it’s clear that there is demand for a flexible and creative space for younger people to explore drama as well.”
