We’re very excited to be trying out a new Walkabout show this summer, celebrating the courageous and chaotic world of delivery drivers. Uber Happy is based on original work made during the pandemic with Chinese artists over Zoom, performed to over 12,600 people at the Modern Drama Valley Festival, Shanghai, in 2021.

Through the support of the Ensemble Festival, London, this new piece of outdoor walkabout theatre is now being developed for UK audiences and will be performed as research and development on July 24th at Royal Victoria Docks, Western Gate Way, London, E16 1FA.

Uber Happy is a fifteen minute fiesta, featuring three bike-riding drivers, bonkers dance routines, the silliest of music and deliveries of the most unexpected kind, and once it's developed will join our stable of Walkabout acts that perform at festivals and events across the UK and beyond. We are honoured to be trying out the new show as part of the fantastic Ensemble Festival, and grateful to them for their support in developing the show further.

Ensemble Festival is an explosive mix of art and performance bringing the very best of UK artists to the heart of the Docklands. Developed by producers Certain Blacks, an arts development organisation based locally in Custom House in the Royal Docks, in partnership with Without Walls, Ensemble forms part of Ship Building – a body of creative work being developed by Certain Blacks in response to the current UK societal climate and reflecting the heritage of the London docks.

There is a huge and wonderful mix of performances throughout the day and it will be a fantastic day out for all the family. We’ll be performing in the Royal Victoria Docks area around 2pm (please check the Certain Blacks website for more details). If you come along, say hello!
