Vamos is celebrating the success of an Arts Council grant which will support on-going resilience for the company, along with the wider Worcestershire arts scene.

The grant, awarded through Arts Council England’s Grants for the Arts, will help with plans to build our street theatre walkabout programme, including developing new acts and marketing this side of our work to festivals and events. We are also working with Peter Mackenzie Shaw, business consultant and fundraiser, on effectively targeting our strengths and communicating them clearly to potential funders and bookers.

In a wider context benefitting Worcestershire artists, the grant will also be used to support the Worcestershire arts scene more generally, with events that help local arts practitioners and companies through networking and training events. The first of these, a day of fundraising training for artists and arts companies, will be led by Vamos and Peter Mackenzie Shaw and hosted at Worcester Arts Workshop. Details are available from the Vamos office or contact us here, and the event is open to all local artists.

Rachael Savage, Vamos’s Artistic Director, commented, “We are delighted to have received such fantastic and important support from Arts Council England. It is essential in the current financial climate to be versatile as an arts organisation, and this grant will help Vamos to build a wider and more diverse range of performance. It’s also great for the Worcestershire arts scene, as it will help to provide resources that allow Vamos to initiate networking and training to build more resilient artists and arts organisations in the region, building a stronger, more vibrant, and more connected arts scene ”
