Support workers and volunteers from Alzheimer's Society will be at performances of our current tour of Finding Joy, providing information and support for audiences about dementia after the show.
Co-ordinated by Mussara Jabeen-Gray, Community Fundraiser at Alzheimer's Society Essex, and our own Health Connector, Hazel Ratcliffe, Alzheimer's Society will be setting up in the foyer with information tables, raising awareness, answering questions and helping audience members who would like support after seeing the show.
We have already had a great response from audiences so far, and it's clearly helping to create a direct and meaningful link between the perfomance and people's lives - whether that's learning more about how to be dementia aware, finding support as a carer, being able to give financially, or just being better informed about what it is to live with dementia.
The support of Alzehimer's UK is making a real difference and we'd like to give a big thank you to Mussara and the support workers and volunteers who are helping to make it happen. We'd also like to thank Age UK who will be providing support at Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds.
