We are delighted to launch our new online, low cost training course for carers, The Art of Care, exploring practically the positive impact of compassionate, person-centred, playful care and the art of making connections beyond words.

Originally commissioned by, and made in collaboration with, PrimeLife care homes, The Art of Care is for anyone who cares for people living with dementia, whether professionally or in the home. In ten bite-sized episodes, The Art of Care gives carers real life tools and ideas to use in daily life, showing how even very small shifts in approach can create profound changes in the care we give.

Written and presented by Artistic Director, Rachael Savage, the course use scenes performed by actors to show best-practice care in action, exploring non-verbal skills such as eye contact, mirroring, deep listening and touch, and specific situations such as mealtimes. They explore why taking responsibility for one’s own body language is important, why reading someone else’s body language is empowering, and how communicating effectively without words is something we can all do brilliantly.

Costing only £6 per person for a year’s access, The Art of Care offers powerful ways to change what care feels like. It’s a challenge to reimagine, a shift we can all be part of, for a culture change in care, powered by empathy, joy, and genuine human connection.
