Calling all actors, performers and theatre makers interested in non-verbal, mask theatre. This January, we'll be running a talent development residency as part of the MimeLondon 2026 season, hosted by Shoreditch Town Hall.
Delivered by our Artistic Director, Rachael Savage, Revealing the Mask is a two-day workshop for actors, performers, theatre practitioners, educators and anyone interested in telling non-verbal stories. It will be a creative, high energy and inspiring physical weekend that will give participants a thorough introduction to full mask technique.
Through exercises and shared experimentation, the workshop explores mask characterisation, mask physicality, and techniques such as clocking, stillness and isolation, helping to build confidence and understanding of mask performance. More advanced full mask skills and a deeper understanding of the form will also be covered, through devising in full mask individually, and as a mask ensemble.
We are delighted to be back at MimeLondon. We often find exciting new performers through these sessions, who have gone on to be part of our mainhouse shows, walkabout work and creative learning offers. We welcome anyone who has an interest in physical storytelling, using our bodies non-verbally, exploring devising, and working collaboratively with others.
