Thanks to funding support from Healthy Worcestershire, we are delighted to be partnering with Worcestershire’s Carers and Communities to deliver two free sessions for home carers who are looking after someone living with dementia.

The first session is Mischief! (July 13th) an interactive performance created especially for people living with dementia and other cognitive conditions, which carers and the person they care for can both attend - a chance to step away from routine and share something joyful together.

The second session (July 20th - for carers) is a workshop, Listening with your Eyes, which explores how empathetic, non-verbal communication helps people living with dementia feel safe and cared for, and the importance of eye contact, body language, touch and tone of voice.

The two sessions are on separate dates and come as a pair. However, if you are only able to attend one, you can get in touch with Carers and Communities direct and they will help you book.

Rachael Savage, Vamos Theatre’s Artistic Director, comments, “At Vamos Theatre, we deliver projects for people living with dementia and their carers all over the world. It feels particularly exciting and special to bring this training back home to Worcestershire and to support the important work done by Carers and Communities. I’d also like to thank Healthy Worcestershire, whose generous funding support has enabled the project to take place.”
