Vamos Central is proud to present its summer showing House of Fun, at the Swan Theatre, Worcester.
Vamos Central is our drama group of people with mild to moderate learning disabilities who meet weekly in term-time to learn theatre skills, have fun, be playful, and create and share inspiring theatre. In House of Fun, the group has created a magically cheeky performance to share with audiences, made through creative play and non-verbal improvisation.
House of Fun is inspired by what the group finds most important in life – from family and relationships to Coronation Street and murder mysteries – and ultimately how it’s the beauty of humanity that matters most. It celebrates finding joy in the little things, like teasing much loved housemates, and being our true, authentic self.
With mask, movement, fun, and joy, Vamos Central will take audiences on a journey that will stimulate their senses, make them laugh and inspire their own imagination. The journey will end with an immersive experience as the performers invite everyone onstage to have a dance and enjoy the sensory elements of the show, welcoming the audience into the creative and beautiful world of Vamos Central.
We have been running drama sessions for people with mild to moderate learning disabilities for over ten years. This year the group is funded by The Elmley Foundation and The Eveson Trust with additional support from Arts Council England.
Aadil Din, Vamos Theatre’s Creative Engagement Co-Ordinator, comments, "Everyone in Vamos Central is working so hard and their creativity continues to shine through the devising of the performance – the group’s imagination is fantastic and the show promises to be cheeky, funny and so creative - we can’t wait to share it with our audience.
