Congratulations to members of Vamos Central for the hard work, inspiration and creativity that went into the making of their summer sharing, House of Fun, performed last week at the Swan Theatre, Worcester.

Vamos Central is our drama group of people with mild to moderate learning disabilities who meet weekly in term-time to learn theatre skills, have fun, be playful, and create and share inspiring theatre. House of Fun was inspired by what the group finds most important in life – from family and relationships to Coronation Street and murder mysteries – and ultimately how it’s the beauty of humanity that matters most.

Every one of the performers did themselves proud and the audience were warm, enthusiastic and wonderfully supportive. The group made a show that was funny, sensory, immersive, creative and beautiful, with brilliant support from Co-Lead Facilitators Aadil Din and Sam Strachan, alongside Vamos Central volunteers Tracy Murphy and Tree Sadler.

Honor Hoskins, Vamos Theatre’s Creative Producer, commented, “Well done to all of the Vamos Central team for an evening of joy! Everyone was able to shine, whether as individual members or as part of the group, and it showed how new members have really grown and aren’t nervous or shy to perform. Such a brilliant evening!

Aadil Din, Vamos Theatre’s Creative Engagement Co-Ordinator, commented, "The Vamos Central team worked so hard to create this imaginative, cheeky and joyous performance – all devised by the members themselves – everyone at Vamos Theatre is super proud. And thank you to our fantastic audience for making the evening so much fun and full of laughter.”
