This week, our Artistic Director Rachael Savage is delivering a talk and workshop at NOAHCON, the National Organisations of Arts in Health conference taking place in Texas, USA.
We’re delighted to have been invited to present at the conference, held at the University of Houston. The annual NOAH conferences inform participants on current and emerging topics in the field, highlight best practices and exemplary programs, and connect an ever-expanding community to inspire conversation, collaboration and innovation. NOAHCON attracts artists of all disciplines, arts administrators, healthcare professionals (administrative and clinical), as well as researchers, creative and expressive arts therapists, designers, educators, students, and anyone with an interest in the transformative impact of arts in health.
Rachael is attending the conference alongside our Creative Producer, Honor Hoskins and her talk will be focusing on Vamos Theatre’s interactive performances and training created for care homes and giving an insight to delegates into Rachael’s working methods, which emphasise listening deeply, making genuine connections and nurturing playful acceptance in dementia care.
Whilst in Texas, Rachael and Honor are also making sure that locals get to know the Vamos Theatre mask characters. Pictured above is Joy, from our production Finding Joy, in the theatre district of Houston, Texas.
