Vamos Young People's Theatre is a group of 9-14 year olds who want to learn theatre skills, but with a difference.
Led by Kathryn Green, the group meet weekly in term time. Members learn about teamwork, focus, commitment, humour, and being reliable. They learn acting skills like developing character, physicality, being open, devising stories, and (best of all) the skills of using full mask.
Members of VYPT get the chance to work with Vamos’s professional production team and create a performance at the end of every term.
Vamos Young People's Theatre is generously supported by The Bransford Trust, Worcester Arts Council, and by Cllrs Derek Prodger and Paul Tuthill through the Worcestershire County Council Divisional Fund. The group's 2016 project, In Dear Old England's Name, is supported by the Sir Barry Jackson Trust and The Hive: Worcestershire World War 100 Project. We are also grateful to the group's previous project funders, including Heritage Lottery Fund, The Elmley Foundation, and the continuing support of local councillors through the Worcestershire County Council Divisional Fund.
