Mask Making

Mask Making Workshops

Make the Mask is a workshop for anyone who'd like to design, create and paint a full mask for themselves.

This workshop is available for organisations to book (contact learning[at]vamostheatre.co.uk): if you would like to attend a public workshop, please see our Next Public Workshop page to see what is coming up..

We welcome d/Deaf participants at all our workshops. If you are booking a workshop, it can be led by one of the deaf workshop leaders on the Vamos Theatre team, or can include a BSL interpreter. Just let us know when booking.

Make the Mask

A one day hands-on session of practical mask-making, based on Vamos Theatre's methods of creating professional full masks.

Suitable for everyone over 16 years, no previous art or theatre experience is necessary - just an interest in the mask making process, an enjoyment of creating things, and a willingness to get your hands dirty with paint and clay!

You will be  closely guided through the stages of creating a full mask, from deciding the character to molding clay, 'pulling' the mask, and painting. And, best of all, you can keep the mask you make at the end of the session. This day workshop is always fun, informal, creative and friendly.
