What we offer professionals

Vamos and professional development

Whether you're interested in full mask theatre, or want to learn more about non-verbal communication, we have a wide-range of workshops and residencies on offer.

Performers can learn full mask theatre techniques and how to increase awareness of their physicality. For teachers, we have a great selection of workshops that introduce full mask, devising, physical theatre, and how to use creativity more effectively in the classroom. Our range of mask making workshops, including for Deaf participants, are open to everyone, and need no prior experience.

Most workshops are available for booking to groups and organisations and we also run several public workshops every year for individuals.

What a terrific and useful day at the Revealing the Mask workshop at Southbank! I walked in with little experience, but within hours I was devising an entire scene.  Beautiful masks, clear instruction, and a joyful time for all. I highly recommend Vamos Theatre!

Shelley Wyche - Revealing the Mask workshop

Such good fun, and I loved…being given the opportunity and licence to play. The power of the full face masks was extraordinary. I loved the liberation it gave people.

Sian Kerry - Arts Alive

Informative, innovative, fun and extremely interesting: seeing a mask come to life as people became the character was a real treat.

Justin Stuart - eMzantsi Carnival, Cape Town (Full Mask for Performers)

This workshop really inspired me and I would recommend it to every Deaf person in the universe.

Mary-Jayne Russell de Clifford - DeDrama
