Four more of the Finding Joy team (L-R Janie, Alan, Sarah, Kathryn) reveal their hidden talents and what gets them up in the morning..

Names please...
Sarah Hawkins: Actor
Janie Armour: Composer
Kathryn Green Administrator
Alan Riley: Dramaturg

Describe mask theatre in three words
Sarah: Truthful, cathartic, symbiotic.
Janie: Intriguing, human, surprising
Kathryn: Emotion in movement
Alan: Simple, immediate, affecting

Have you got any hidden talents?
Sarah:: Bellringing.
Janie: If sleeping is a talent!
Kathryn: I can guess the weight and price of a parcel to be sent via Royal Mail to the nearest gram and penny.
Alan: I’m quite a good plumber

What is best piece of the theatre you have ever seen and why?
Sarah: Familie Flӧz, Hotel Paradiso. Because it’s mask theatre, obviously!
Janie: Robert Lepage’s The Anderson Project: for its clever storytelling and sleight of hand, though Complicite’s Master and Margerita is also up there
Kathryn: I particularly enjoyed Kneehigh’s Hansel and Gretel. During my time at Uni it was refreshing to watch it amongst all the Ibsen and Shakespeare. Kneehigh reminded me, much like Vamos, that good theatre doesn't have to be straight-laced, grown-up theatre.
Alan: Woza Albert, The Market Theatre of Johannesburg. A serious, political but extremely funny & poignant physical piece about the struggle against apartheid in S Africa.

If a film was made about your life, who would you like to play you?
Sarah: Jessica Raine as Jenny Lee in Call the Midwife. I was born to live in that period.
Janie: Christina Hendricks (Joan in Madmen). We don’t share the same physique :0) but she plays a mean accordion
Kathryn: Julie Walters, though perhaps she’d be me in a few years’ time!
Alan: Tilda Swinton

What or who was your inspiration to get involved in theatre?
Sarah: Rachael Savage and her fantastic, friendly way of working.
Janie: The opportunity to tell stories with music, to go on tour a lot and to get up late in the morning
Kathryn: The buzz you get from knowing that you helped play such a large part in getting a show out to an audience; knowing I helped people engage their imaginations, and for the short time they are sat in the audience or taking part in a workshop they too feel inspired and energised...It might also be because I’d combust if I had to work in an environment that didn't let me do silly things like be a Disco Dancing Cow every now and then!
Alan: My 6th form theatre studies teacher.

You can see Sarah in Finding Joy touring from January to June 2014.
