Simone Lewis, who plays Danny (amongst other characters) in Finding Joy, shares some of the highlights of the tour so far

It's been a good few weeks since our tour of Finding Joy began and we have certainly found a lot of joy inside village halls and theatres across the country! It has been a whirlwind of an introduction to what will be a 6 month tour. So far we have travelled from our base in Worcester to Suffolk, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Devon, and Wiltshire, with further bookings taking us through Wales in the week to come. We have seen some beautiful towns and villages on our journeys, such as Wells Next the Sea, where I took in the idyllic seaside view with a fresh hot mug of Thai chicken soup from the local bakery...mmm...delicious! We have also met some wonderful people who have welcomed us into their communities with open arms, big smiles, and home cooked meals for four! A special mention to the large group from Grasby Village Hall who stayed till the bitter end helping us pack the van right down to the last cable, sending us off with refreshments in hand. Late night get-out support totally welcomed after a long day's get-in and performance. The same could be said about Create Theatre in Mansfield; a brilliant teaching space for theatre students who would like to pursue a career in stage management and lighting design. The venue itself had every technical specification you could ask for and a wonderful efficient team of teachers and students to match. It was here we recorded out fastest get-out to date: what usually takes 1 hour 30 mins took a whopping 55 minutes! We were also thrilled to meet some devoted Vamos fans along the way who were determined to catch the show and had no choice but to travel further afield when tickets for the show sold out in their home towns. Thank you for your ongoing support! This week we're off to Wales where I look forward to finding plenty of joy in the form of a seaside honey ice-cream feast in Tywyn Bay...Bring it!
