Finding Joy, Vamos’s full mask production about dementia, is to have a limited run at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Producers from the Assembly Rooms came to see The Best Thing at Jackson’s Lane, London earlier in the year, where it was playing as part of London International Mime Festival, and were keen to book a Vamos show for the festival. The version of Finding Joy created for international touring, which runs at 70 minutes without an interval, was agreed on as most suited to the Edinburgh schedule, and the production will be performed for 11 shows only, from 4th -14th August, at 4:30pm each day.

Director Rachael Savage, who will also play Joy, commented, “I’m so excited about Vamos performing in Edinburgh and it’s fantastic to be invited by The Assembly Rooms. It’s a wonderful opportunity, but it is so important that all our supporters and friends help us to spread the word, as Edinburgh can be a daunting financial risk for any company.”

With this being the first time for Vamos at Edinburgh, we’re going to be working our socks off over the next few months making sure that we attract audiences. If you’re planning to visit Edinburgh during the festival, please come and support us, and if you can help spread the word about Finding Joy in Edinburgh, it will make a big difference.

We would like to thank producer Penny Mayes for helping us make connections in Edinburgh, and to Assembly Rooms for having us – we can’t wait to be there!
