Last week saw the first hands-on rehearsal for our next touring production, which many of you will know is a re-make of our 2010 hit Nursing Lives. The week, always known optimistically as 'playweek' certainly lived up to its name, and gave the company ample opportunity to try out new ideas and develop old ones.

Actors James Greaves, Marissa Gunter, Sarah Hawkins and Richard J Fletcher, alongside director Rachael Savage were joined by several of the Nursing Lives creative team, including choreographer Rachael Alexander and designer Carl Davies. The company used the week to work on character development, particularly to feed into the creation of new masks by Russell Dean, and to hone some of the 1940s swing dancing which features in the show. Rachael Alexander has created some challenging choreography that will look stunning, at least after a month or so of practice!

The week has been invaluable to the whole team, and the show is already promising to be immense fun, as well as (in true Vamos style), a little heart-wrenching. Look out for the show near you from February.
